The cruise season in Bergen is in full swing. More and more cruise ships are using electricity instead of diesel when docked, and in April, 65 percent of the ships connected to the shore power facilities in the port.

On Thursday, May 2nd, we had visits from Aidaperla and Viking Venus, and both ships connected to the shore power facility in the port.

The facility is Europe's largest, and three cruise ships can connect simultaneously. This year, the goal is for at least 50 percent of cruise ships to use shore power when visiting Bergen, and from 2026, Bergen Port expects all cruise ships to use electricity instead of diesel when docked in Bergen.

In April, 65 percent of the cruise ships visiting Bergen connected to the shore power facility in the port. We consider this to be a very positive development.
