Båtmann Stasjonen become a part of the Port of Bergen
The mooring company Båtmann Stasjonen and Bergen Port Authority have entered into an agreement under which Båtmann Stasjonen’s operations will continue as an integrated part of Bergen Port Authority’s service offering. The agreement entails the winding up of the company Båtmann Stasjonen, with Bergen Port Authority taking over both employees and operations as of January 1st

We warmly welcome Båtmann Stasjonen and its employees to the Port of Bergen. Together, we look forward to further developing and delivering professional and efficient mooring services as a natural part of our overall service offering,” says Port Director Michal Forland.

The Port of Bergen has for some time pursued a strategic objective of strengthening control over services operated from the port. Mooring is a core port operation service, and Port of Bergen considers this a responsibility that naturally belongs within the port authority’s remit.

The parties have maintained a good and constructive dialogue over an extended period and have now agreed on a solution that ensures quality, robustness, and predictability in service delivery.

“Båtmann Stasjonen has a history spanning nearly 100 years. At the same time, we have experienced that operating as a small, independent company has become more demanding. By becoming part of Bergen Port Authority, we join a strong and solid organisation, as well as gain greater day-to-day flexibility—particularly in connection with illness and holiday arrangements,” says Managing Director Jan Jentoft of Båtmann Stasjonen.

The mooring services will continue as before, with the same availability and quality. The main change is that invoicing for mooring assignments will henceforth be handled by Bergen Port Authority.
